QMI engine treatment is not an oil additive, but a metal treatment. It does not change the properties of the oil. QMI engine treatment applies a micro-thin coating of PTFE to the metal. This plastic coating offers several benefits. Friction and wear are dramatically reduced, while power, torque, and service life increase. QMI engine treatment has passed the ASTM-approved Sequence IIIE test, which is recognized worldwide and approved by engine manufacturers. This test shows a wear reduction of a full 88% compared to the reference oil.

Lower fuel consumption.

I felt the effects of the QMI treatment started to show after about 40,000 km. Diesel consumption dropped from 4.57 l/10 km in 2008 to 4.18 l/10 km in 2009. That is almost 10%. Since I drive about 120,000 km a year, the savings are 4,680 liters multiplied by the 7.78 NOK per liter I paid in 2009. That is 36,410 NOK, or about 3,000 NOK per month. And since the price difference between QMI Engine Treatment and fully synthetic oil isn’t large, this is pure profit. I drive about 80,000–90,000 km between oil changes, but I top up with one liter of QMI Engine Treatment after about 45,000 km. Otherwise, I don’t top up with any other engine oil.

The engine pulls better.

The engine also runs smoother and cleaner, which you can clearly hear. I drive up Lierbakken on my way to Oslo almost daily and have noticed that the truck pulls better. Previously, I maintained a speed of about 60 km/h with a full load; today I’m at about 65 km/h. I also stay in a half-gear higher now than before and at lower RPMs. I can safely recommend everyone to use QMI Engine Treatment in their vehicles; I certainly won’t be driving without it.

On the M/V Frihav, owned by Kopervik Shipping AS, an engine flush and QMI engine treatment were carried out in the summer of ’98. The engine, a Nohab F26R 1320 hp at 825 rpm, had a lubricating oil consumption of about 35 liters per day. After 2–3 months, the ship had a consumption of about 27 liters per day. During this period, it should be noted that one piston and cylinder liner were replaced. Some of the reduction in oil consumption can likely be attributed to this, but we are convinced that the QMI treatment provided savings. Fuel consumption was reduced by about 10 liters per hour. The ship was under our operation until mid-December, so we don’t have further experience regarding oil consumption beyond these 6 months.

    Tenkte eg ville dele erfaringer og stille eit spørsmål.
    Erfating:
    Eg har veldig god erfaring med QMI produkta. V70en 2,0t man. 2002 modell. Bilen fekk seg ei god behandling med QMI i luftinntaket, QMI bensintilsetning, motorvask og motorbehandling. Dette gjorde susen på den gamle bilen som i 2015 hadde ca 250.000 km på veien.

    I eit daglig brukt påkøyringsfelt var motorkrafta plutselig mykje kraftigare etter behandlinga. Sommardekka spann på tørr asfalt under akselerasjon i fart, noko den ikkje hadde gjort i mitt eige før. I dag i 2019 har den 327.000km på tellaren og er fortsatt sprek og god.

    XC90en, ein D5 2007 modell eg kjøpte i haust, hadde ei kraftig traktorkakling på tomgang, den forsvant med QMI motorvask og motorbehandling. Det høyrast ut som motoren går lettare og at ein suselyd i kupeen frå turboen forsvant samtidig på lave turtal i fart.

    Spørsmål:
    Automatgiret på XC90en girer av og til litt hardt mellom 3 og 4, og 5 og 6 giret. Ventilhuset er utpeika som syndaren av dei som kan slik. Mitt ønske er bytte automatgirolja og tilsette QMI automatgirbehandling. Samtidig lurer eg på å kjøpe eit Magnefine filter og sette på slangen før/etter automatgirkjølaren. Det er eit kombinert filter til smuss og metallpartikler. Eg lurer då på om filteret vil ta til seg QMI metallbehandlinga og tette filteret/ødelegge for QMI behandlinga?
